My first visit to Sasa was at their Hong Kong store! I instantly fell in love with the range of brands they stocked, ranging from Western and Eastern brands such as Lancome, Maybelline, Kose and Etude House 🙂
Since Australia doesn’t have their stores here, I often purchase from their online store and shipping is free for a certain spend and it arrives pretty quick in less than 2 weeks!
In my order I have purchased Kose’s popular “Happy Bath Day” products, Shiseido lip balms and a Laneige mask 🙂
Let’s get into it! The first time I’ve heard of Happy Bath Day products is when I read Japanese magazines such as Popteen, Jelly, Happy Nuts and Ageha! They would feature new and popular products and that’s when the craze started. In Japan, products which feature the scent or ingredient Roses is well loved. I, myself is also a big sucker for this, the rose scent is feminine, calming and it is a hydrating ingredient to incorporate into products 🙂
Plus look at the packaging!!!! pink? tick. rose? tick. cute packaging? tick! hehe 🙂 All of Happy Bath Day’s products are enriched with the Damask rose so they are all hydrating and contain a subtle rose scent 🙂
With the body soap, I have been using this when I’m in the shower and it’s leaves a squeaky clean feeling on the skin as well as keeping it smooth to the touch 🙂 the scent of roses is very subtle and you can’t smell it when you dry off which sucks!
This is a 300ml bottle and you can see the intricate and subtle rose pattern on the bottom of the bottle as well as the neck and lid 🙂 You can see the soap is slightly clear with a gel texture! For $18.40 it’s kind of pricey for what it is considering some body wash with a lovely scent can cost less than $10!
The description on the Sasa described this as: “A fragrance soap with embossed rose pattern, It contains Damask rose and natural moisturising ingredients for skin nourishment. It contains organic wild rose essence and Damascus rose honey provides deep moisturising and nourishment to your skin. Enriched cream texture is extremely moist and fresh. Non-sticky formula leaves your hand smooth and soft with continuous hydrated feeling. Long lasting scent of rose creates a feeling of luxurious indulgences.”
Now for the hand cream, this is $10.40 for only 40g of product! Also pretty pricey because you can buy brands such as Garnier or Nivea with more product for less $$ 🙂 But it’s only because of the packaging and the rose ingredient I believe they price point it this way haha
Again, this gets brownie points for the packaging! I guess the perks of 40g is that it’s small and lightweight to store into your bag 🙂
The scent of the rose is again subtle but the cream itself is hydrating and not sticky so that’s a plus! It dries into the skin quickly too 🙂 It’s described on Sasa as: “Enriched with flower extract which offers ground breaking moisturising effect. It helps to help heal and protect dry or dehydrated skin Delivers effective relief for dry, chapped hands. It is so concentrated that only a small amount instantly leaves dry hands noticeably softer and smoother after just one application. Use daily, it helps prevent dry, chapped skin – even under the harshest of conditions. “
Now on to the lip balms! I normally prefer lip balms on a stick because it doesn’t require me to stick my finger in the product, but because of the packaging I had to get it haha you’ll see why!
It’s so cute and small! with 5.5g of product it’s worth it for $8.20 🙂 Again, it is light so you can carry it wherever you go! You just have to clean your hands before sticking it in to the pot 😛
Love the rose detailed lid!!! and the soft pink colour which you see throughout all of HBD products 🙂 You can see the formula of the balm is a gel type and applies clear! It’s hydrating with a subtle rose scent and doesn’t leave a stick feeling which is good 🙂
It’s described on Sasa as: “It soothes and conditions your lips, preventing it from suffering from chapping, formation of wrinkles. With SK II lip repair, your lips look healthy and soft throughout the year, even under the very dry climate in winter! With Kose Happy Bath Day Precious Rose Rose Enrich Lip Balm , your lips look healthy and soft and glimmering over the clock. “
I’m not sure about the SKII lip repair part, but it does the job 🙂
For the last HBD product, this is the Lip Essence! I like to use this at night before I sleep as a repair lip balm 🙂 For 8g of product for $8 it’s average in price and I think it’s worth it! Again, like all HBD products, the rose scent is subtle so it’s not over whelming for you sensitive noses out there 😉
This product is housed in a tube with a round applicator so you can directly smooth it onto the lips or squeeze some out on your hand and apply with your finger tip 🙂 It is described on Sasa as: “Contains nourishing and hydrating essence gives lips a glossy lustre while smoothing out roughness and treating dryness, for irresistibly softer and smoother lips. Luscious rose scent lingers on your lips, effectively calming and soothing senses with every swipe. High gloss formula delivers intense moisturization that plumps up lips and reduces lines. For best results, swipe lip essence on clean lips as often as needed. “
As a lip balm lover, I will be definitely repurchasing these 2 lip products in the future 🙂
As well as a lover of lip care, I am so big on facial masks! They are so important especially during the Winter and I enjoy relaxing in masks 2-3 times a week 🙂 I was first introduced to the well loved Korean brand, Laneige by my girlfriend who loves their popular Water Sleeping mask 🙂 I tried it and never looked back since. I had a look at the other products they had to offer and I have read good things about this Yoghurt pack!
Basically “packs” are pretty much another word for mask. You use it the same way, after washing and toning the face, apply a generous amount to the face, leave it on for 15 mins and wash it off. For 80g of product for $23.80 is sooooooo worth it!!
Laneige products always come with a spatula so it’s hygienic because you can scoop it out of the tub rather than sticking your fingers inside and contaminating the goodness 🙂 I love the pink tub! First thing I noticed when I opened and applied this on my face was the scent!!!!! Oh my goodness, this smells good enough to EAT! 😀 It smells exactly like Strawberry flavoured Pocky!! being a sweet tooth, it was so hard to resist not licking this off my face haha I also noticed how hydrated, clear and plump my face felt when I washed this pack off!!!!
As Sasa describes it: “It is high concentration multi berry extract yoghurt pack that nourishes skin from deep inside and leaves skin supple. Sogurty, a specialized fermented yoghurt, promotes collagen synthesis, and enhances defence ability of skin from harmful external causes to leave skin healthier and firmer. Its anti-inflammatory effects also soothe skin from skin troubles. Multi berry complex (various berry extracts from raspberries, blueberries, wolfberries, cranberries, and strawberries) delivers abundant nutrition and antioxidants to eliminate harmful free radicals.”
I was never aware that Shiseido also made lip balms until I saw these on Sasa! These are from their Therapino range, which is moisturising and nourishing with oils.
With 4.5g of product for $7-8 it can be pricey for some people since Maybelline’s Baby Lips balm also does the trick for $4! But to me I really like the formula of these balms so it passes as okay 🙂
The pink balm is the original formula and I’m wearing it now as I type 🙂 It’s been an hour and it’s still on the lips and they feel hydrated and soft with a bit of shine 🙂 I really like the packaging too! it reminds me of the Indian temples!
Like I said before, I love twisty lip balms because I can apply it directly on to my lips so it’s hygenic 🙂 the stick of balm is in a light caramel colour.
This blue version however, contains a mint flavour so it’s also refreshing! this one cost $1 extra than the original 🙂 The stick of balm is slightly of a darker caramel colour compared to the other. That’s how you can tell them apart besides the colour of the tube haha they are both described on Sasa as: “Powerfully moisturises dry lips, restoring soft and shining lips. “
I hope you enjoyed this post! If you haven’t shopped at Sasa before, check out their website! They stock so many brands and often they are at a reasonable price too! They also have discount on certain items and also sell body, hair and men’s products 🙂
