Yay!!!!! So the new Pokemon was finally released today in Australia and of course I had to get my paws on it! I have been playing Pokemon since Yellow/Red/Blue on the Gameboy and it’s good to watch the game expand and improve (especially the graphics!) 🙂
I play on every platform but one of the reasons why I love the Nintendo 3DS is because it is practical! I love how it’s light and small so you can take it anywhere you want 🙂 My 3DS is only 1 years old because I first had the original DS (grey, chunky, heavy!) and I thought it was time to upgrade. I still have it though!
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby are remakes of the original Sapphire and Ruby Pokemon game from years ago that you can play on the Gameboy Advanced! It has Kyogre on the cover, which is the ledgendary Pokemon you can encounter in the game! While the other one, Pokemon Omega, has Groudon!
Just like all Pokemon games, each game consists of a select few Pokemon that is only found in that game! Which means that you will have to trade with someone else who has the other game to fill up your Pokedex 🙂 These Pokemon are:
Ruby: Seedot, Nuzleaf, Shiftry, Mawile, Zangoose, Solrock.
Sapphire: Lotad, Lombre, Ludicolo, Sableeye, Seviper, Lunatone.
Don’t forget to register your new Pokemon game on Club Nintendo website so you can gain some stars from it!! You can redeem your accumulated stars for Nintendo merchandise 🙂
The game slot is the same as Pokemon X/Y and has the logo on the front.
Insert it at the back of your 3DS and you’re ready!!!
I love that you can how buy or use free wallpaper themes from the Nintendo E shop! This one I downloaded free during the Halloween event 🙂 I hope they make some Pokemon ones soon! I’ll definitely buy it haha.
Oh, and make sure before you start the game, that you click on “MYSTERY GIFT”! You will receive a lovely welcome gift hehe 🙂 Which is a Pokemon!! It’s Beldum! It’s also a shiny too, holding a Metagrossite which allows it to Mega Evolve during your journey into the game! It’s original colour is grey and blue, but the shiny one you will receive is light grey with yellow!
It’s move, “Hold Back” is such an important and useful move to have at this point in your journey because when you use this move, you will not faint the Pokemon you want to catch! It will leave it with 1 HP left 🙂 This will make it so much easier because we have all been there, where we miscalculate and accidentally faint the Pokemon 🙁 Such a waste of time trying to find that Pokemon again in the wild haha!!
Now make sure you don’t forget to send your Glalie over to Alpha/Omega from your special Demo!! If you haven’t heard of this, make sure you check your emails if you have received an invitation code to download the special Demo. But I have heard that some people who hasn’t gotten an email can ask for one in your local game shop! In the demo, you will receive this Pokemon along with a few other small freebies that you can transfer to the full game! 🙂 All you have to do is talk to Steven in the demo game, and there is an option on his speech menu to transfer! But choose wisely, because you are only able to transfer to the full game ONE product at a time per day!
To pick up your freebies in the full game, click on “POKEMON LINK” on the menu before you start the game. (Shown before the previous 2 pictures)
Moving on to Diancie, this special Pokemon can only be obtained via a code! You can get this code through EB Games, or other participating stores! I was unlucky and read my email a week late and by the time I got to my local EB store, they ran out of codes 🙁 But luckily my friend who works at Big W, had some codes left and gave me one 🙂 horayyyyyyy!! Diancie will hold an item, Normal Gem and you can only get it in Pokemon X or Y! You just log in to the game, click on “MYSTERY GIFT” like the previous picture, and instead of checking online, you click on the option where you enter the code in! When that’s done, run the X/Y game, and pick up your Diancie from the lady in blue standing next to Nurse Joy. After she gives it to you, try walking out of the Pokemon Centre and you will trigger a scene where you are asked to give Diancie away. Choose the negative option x2 and you will keep it 🙂
Now it’s time to transfer your gem to Alpha/Omega!! But how do you do that? Well I spent quite some time researching online but I still couldn’t find a site that gave CLEAR instructions. I found a site that mentioned Pokemon Bank app, I done some research and finally figured it out!! All you do is go into your Nintendo E shop app, search in “Pokemon Bank” and download it free. HOWEVER, you will have to pay $6.50 per year to use this app! When you run this app, it will let you know you need to pay before you can use it. If you don’t have any money in your E shop then you can either top up, or pay directly with a credit card. I guess this fee covers the technical side which I don’t mind 🙂 The Pokemon Bank app has 100 boxes which means you can store around 3000 Pokemon! Keep in mind that with Pokemon Bank, you can transfer legitimate Pokemon from X/Y to Alpha/Omega. Any Pokemon that is illegally created can not (what I’ve heard).
If you however, want to transfer Pokemon from Black/White and Black2/White2 to the Pokemon Bank, you will have to install “Poke Transporter” which is thankfully, free to install and free to use because you have already paid for the Pokemon Bank app 🙂 Again, just search “Poke Transporter” in your E Shop and make sure you are connected to a fast and stable internet to avoid any delays or problems!
Firstly, make sure you have Pokemon X/Y in your game slot and that Diancie is inside the X/Y Pokemon PC! Don’t put Diancie in your bag because you can only transfer Pokemon to the Pokemon Bank if they are inside your PC Boxes! BEWARE! If you transfer a Pokemon to Pokemon Bank, then put it back in to the game PC Box, the item the Pokemon holds will transfer to your bag. If your bag is full, you will lose this item FOREVER!
Ok, so now that is done, you will see Diancie on the bottom of the screen which is the game slot’s PC Box. While the top shows the Pokemon Bank’s boxes. It’s very simple, just put Diancie into the top box. Save. Then exit the app, take out Pokemon X/Y game slot and insert Pokemon Alpha/Omega game slot. Then run the app, this time you will see Diancie is still there inside the Pokemon Bank box, just transfer her into the bottom box and save 🙂
Now run the Alpha/Omega game, go into the Pokemon Centre and you can now withdraw Diancie into your party! But just know that because we are fresh newbies in this game, Diancie being over lv50 will NOT obey us in battle! I tried for fun and it was rather cute seeing her ignore my commands during battle haha. So for now you will have to wait patiently till you earn enough badges for it to listen to you! Now, we are told that as soon as we transfer Diancie to Alpha/Omega, we will receive her mega stone. But we haven’t gotten it yet! Don’t stress, just get out of the Pokemon Centre, and walk back in. You will trigger the exact same scene you saw in X/Y where you are asked to give away your precious baby. Just press the negative option x2 and you will be given the Diancite which can be equipped to Diancie to mega evolve 🙂
Hope this will give you a head start and some helpful info if you are struggling with the start of your game 🙂 I been playing for 2hrs so far and I’m loving it! The graphics has definitely improved since X/Y so I am impressed 🙂
