LUSH HAUL

I have never tried Lush products before, but I’ve heard some good things about this brand being hand made and using fresh/organic ingredients! I always give everything a go so I thought I pick up a few items to start off with πŸ™‚ I really want to try their popular bath bombs, but I don’t have a bath tub at home so that sucks XD

Most of Lush’s packaging is simple, black background with white text which showcases brief info about the product. It’s products are housed either in glass or plastic, so it’s travel friendly! A good point about Lush is that they sell most items in various sizes so you can choose smaller sizes if you are first trying something out, or if you want to bring it with you while travelling on the plane πŸ™‚

First off, I picked up 2 masks πŸ™‚ I’m a big lover on masks wether it’s for exfoliating or restoring purposes πŸ™‚ I have chosen the Love Lettuce and Catastrophe Cosmetic. They are both exfoliating and deep cleaning masks!

At the back of every Lush product, it has a list of ingredients and also shows you the lovely person who made this item! You’ll also know the date it was created πŸ™‚ Good thing about these masks is that they are self preserving so you have a bit of time to use them up! Since most natural products are better to be used up quickly! πŸ™‚

The scent of the product is so “natural” it’s hard for me to explain but it’s like a mix of fresh and a fruity/green scent. I don’t mind it! πŸ™‚ I have normal to oily skin type so that’s why I wanted to try this one out. Great thing is that it leaves my skin feeling soft, radiant and clean thanks to the polishing almond shells, almond oil, lavender oil and fullers earth πŸ™‚ I haven’t reacted to all these Lush products I bought so I’m glad! This product isn’t smooth like peanut butter because it contains pieces and textures from the ingredients, but it resembles more of a mousse texture πŸ™‚

Close up of the product! I use a light generous amount on my whole face after cleansing and I leave it on for 15-20mins. Then I rinse it off with warm water while I use circular motions with my hand to rinse it off! When I use exfoliating/deep cleaning masks I like to do this once a week. I don’t like over exfoliating because I don’t want to risk having my skin produce even more oils. Everyone’s skin is different so I guess you won’t know how your skin reacts to over exfoliating until you try it haha. But if you have dehydrated skin I won’t recommend it, especially duringΒ the cooler seasons! When it’s Summer, sometimes I’ll exfoliate twice a week depending how my skin looks, since my skin can get congested easily during the heat or when I am in Asia.

This is how Love Lettuce looks on my skin πŸ™‚ There is a lot of texture in this maskΒ that you can see!

Next up is Catastrophe Cosmetic πŸ™‚ I love how this product contains blueberries because it’s an antioxidant! It also contains chamomile, Irish moss and calamine for a gentle cleanse.

IMG_2443

Chamomile is a popular ingredient to drink in tea because it’s soothing so it’s the same for the skin, it’s calming especially if you tend to have some redness or sensitivity on your skin.

IMG_2444

This product is a little smoother in texture than Love Lettuce but it doesn’t bother me πŸ™‚ Again, I apply a small generous layer onto my face after cleansing and I leave it on for 15-20 mins. Then I rinse it off with warm water and towel dry my face!

IMG_2446

I love the scent of this mask though! It smells sweeter and almost floral too! Makes it enjoyable to relax in it πŸ™‚ You might notice that there might be a bit of liquid coming out of the product but every time you use it, just mix it and it’s good to go! These masks also don’t dry easily out like how Glamglow masks can!

Now on to the lip scrubs πŸ™‚ I don’t own any lip scrubs so it was a great opportunity to try these ones! I realised that you can easily make your own by adding some caster sugar and some essential oils then voila! XD I have chosen the popular Bubblegum flavour and the Popcorn one πŸ™‚

Again, the back shows you who made this for you and the date it was created!

When I opened these, I noticed the sugar in the Bubblegum jar looked more “melted” than the popcorn one haha. It’s strange but it still works, the sugar is there!

20150112_153140

I LOVE the popcorn one!! So much more than Bubblegum haha. Popcorn smells amazing, sweet and yummy! Makes me want to eat it XD

20150112_153330

These are so easy to use though! Just wet you lip, then take a small amount and with circular motions, rub it onto your lips while it’s closed. I don’t want to eat it but I guess you can try πŸ˜›

Close up of the Bubblegum! See how much finer the sugar particles are?

And then here’s the Popcorn! You can see the sugar particles are it’s regular size. Has a grainier texture while the Bubblegum is finer.

Even though the pot is coloured, it’s non coloured so you don’t have to worry if it might stain your lips with the colouring!

That’s all for my Lush haul πŸ™‚ I got my eyes on some of their soaps, hair care and body products!! Can’t wait to try more since I am happy with my first experience with these items πŸ™‚
