I’m sure most of you guys have seen the hype around these palettes these past months all over social media! Of course, I joined the bandwagon because I got sucked in at how amazing these turned out in person! 🙂

First the highlight palette launched, followed by the blush version which is limited edition!

On Monday, the blush palette finally launched in Sydney! We are so far behind from the rest of the world haha. You can find these at Mecca or Mecca Cosmetica stores 🙂 But how cute is the Christmas Mecca Maxima bag!? It’s gold and pink!! Very festive and girly hehe.

Hourglass products are made in Italy and the packaging is mirrored brown but the blush palette is enclosed in a mirrored gold!

At the back of the packaging it tells you the names of each product as well as product info.

Let’s start with the blush palette! 🙂 It’s housed in the same mirrored gold shade with a simple logo on the lid. This palette design fits smoothly onto my palm and it’s lightweight to carry around too! It’s made of a sturdy hard plastic and the lid clicks securely so it won’t flap out easily.

Same with the packaging, the back of the palette has the product name and info! Each product size is 3.3g each! Which is slightly smaller than the average blush but because it’s a palette of 3 I expected it to be smaller than the original blushes Hourglass has to offer 🙂

The colours from L-R: Luminous Flush, Incandescent Electra (new and exclusive shade to this palette) & Mood Exposure. The other 2 shades are one of the best sellers so it’s good to see a mix of different colours to play with!

If you don’t know much about Hourglass blushers, they are mixed in with a different type of highlight! This is why you can see that they aren’t one flat shade, the lighter parts are the highlight and the coloured parts are the blush. So when you swipe it with your brush, it blends together creates a soft glow to your complexion thanks to the highlight 🙂

This far left shade is Luminous Flush! It’s described as: “A champagne rose blush fused with Luminous Light (highlight) to evoke a candlelit glimmer day or night.” This is such a pretty rosy hue and is the deepest out of the 3!

This middle shade is Incandescent Electra, which is the exclusive shade to this palette! It’s described as: “A cool peach blush blended with Incandescent Light (highlight) for a celestial glow.” This one is the brightest out of the 3, and I’m so glad we have a peach shade here!

Last but not least, this is Mood Exposure! It’s described as: “A soft plum blush fused with Mood Light (highlight) to brighten the complexion. This is a perfect blush for that natural make up look you want to create! All of these shades will suit just about every skin tone which is a big plus!

Here are some swatches! L-R: Mood Exposure, Incandescent Electra & Luminous Flush 🙂 I love the soft texture of these blushers and it has a subtle scent which smells like cosmetics which I can bear with haha. I would love if it had a rose scent XD

Swatched against my skin tone! L-R: Luminous Flush, Incandescent Electra & Mood Exposure. Which is your favourite out of the 3? I love them all so I can’t choose 😉 You can also see the highlight is very subtle so it looks really natural and soft on the complexion! I love that about it because you can always add extra highlight if you want to!

And here’s a close up 🙂

Now moving onto the highlight palette! At first I didn’t want to purchase this when it first came out because I already own so many highlighters such as Mac, NARS. Guerlain, Giorgio Armani etc. But after some debating, I decided to jump in! I’m glad I did get it, because it’s a very soft and natural highlight compared to the current ones I have!

It comes in the original mirrored brown packaging which matches the palette too! Again, the back shows the names and product info!

From L-R: Dim Light, Incandescent Light & Radiant Light. Again, there is one exclusive and new highlight to the palette, which is the Incandescent Light! The other 2 are one of the best selling shades!

I love that there is variety in this palette and these will suit any skin tone as well. As a makeup artist, I love anything that comes in a palette form because it makes travelling so much lighter and simpler!

The far left shade is Dim Light. This is a very natural and subtle highlight! Hence, it’s name is “dim light”, dim lighting? haha. It’s described as “A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights the complexion.” If you are someone who doesn’t like the in-your-face highlighted look, you will love this! 🙂 Even if you build it up, it will still be more subtle compared to most highlighters on the market. When I applied this to my skin, it’s barely visible, so for me I use it as a face powder all over. It just blurs everything and makes your skin look like it’s glowing!

This middle shade is the exclusive shade, Incandescent Light. It’s described as “An opalescent pearl powder that brightens the complexion with a celestial glow.” This one is my fav! It’s also one of the most brighter and illuminating out of the 3. This would be your classic highlight haha. It doesn’t highlight your pores and the shimmer is very soft. I’ve got combination to oily skin and even on my skin it doesn’t look oily!

Last but not least, this is Radiant Light. It’s described as: “A sun-kissed golden beige powder that enhances the complexion with believable, subtle warmth.” This would be perfect for those bronzed goddess. summer looks or even better for those with warmer skin tones 🙂 If you’ve got fair skin, I would suggest going light handed first then building up if need be!

Swatch time! From L-R: Dim Light, Incandescent Light & Radiant Light. You can also use these on your eyes as toppings on your eye shadows or even on your lips to created a fuller lip look!

You can see how natural and subtle Dim Light is on my skin tone! Again, these powders are very soft and velvety in texture. It doesn’t look cakey nor does it dry my skin. It blends perfectly and seamlessly onto the skin 🙂

Do you like these shades? 🙂 They will look perfect in photographs too since they aren’t heavily shimmery nor have large glitter particles in them.

I hope this post helps you decide if you want to try these out! If you haven’t seen them in person, get into your local store and get swatching!!!! 😉 I look forward to seeing the new eyeshadow palette, it looks amazing! Today I am wearing Incandescent Electra blush on my cheeks along with Dim Light and Incandescent Light on my cheekbones. Can’t wait to create some looks with these products and show you guys!
