CHANEL MAKEUP HAUL

Hi guys πŸ™‚ Today I have for you a post of some new goodies I bought from Chanel beauty! I love their products from fashion to makeup. The quality is fantastic and the price is just like any other designer makeup (eg. Dior, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, even Tom Ford is a little more pricier than Chanel!) I already own other Chanel makeup, skincare and fragrance but I always like to add some new products into my kit πŸ˜›

IMG_3748

I have bought a new eyeshadow quad, blusher, lipstick and nail polish πŸ™‚

IMG_3693

The packaging is like any other Chanel makeup besides the Les Beiges collection which is housed in a beige packaging πŸ™‚ Their iconic black and gold packaging is recognisable along with the white CHANEL logo!

IMG_3695

The packaging at the front tells you the name of the product in French and English along with the colour and number. Love that they show the weight of the product too! At the back you get your standard ingredient and extra info πŸ™‚

IMG_3697

At the top of the product you also get the name and number of the colour along with a product code πŸ™‚

IMG_3714

Let’s start off with the Eyeshadow quad πŸ˜› Last year around June/July 2014, Chanel had reformulated their classic eyeshadow quads. The previous formula was quite sheer and powdery. Sometimes chalky. However, this new formula had made it even better! These new quads are now so much more pigmented, creamy in texture, blends seamlessly and you only need a little on your brush to work with! πŸ™‚ The new quads also start with a 3 digit code, while the previous one has a 2 digit code. That’s how you can tell them apart πŸ˜›

IMG_3720

Love the packaging of Chanel products because it’s all housed in a beautiful velvet pouch to protect the casing, since being black and shiny, it can easily be scratched so it’s visible :O

IMG_3718

For the eyeshadow quad, you also receive a little booklet which has info about it as well as a 4 page eyeshadow guide! It shows you 4 different eye makeup styles you can create with the palette πŸ™‚

IMG_3724

The casing of all Chanel products are so sturdy! I love the simple design and packaging with the CC logo in the middle to make it recognisable πŸ™‚ You can see fingerprints so easily with this sleek packaging haha.

IMG_3726

Now when you open this beauty up, you can see that the eyeshadows are protected with a clear plastic top. I think that’s fantastic especially when it protects the eyeshadows from being touched or broken πŸ™‚ Love the little CC logo on it too! It’s all in the details hehe. For $98, this will be a splurge for others but the price is comparable to other designer makeup!

IMG_3728

You also get 2 little eyeshadow applicators which a lot of people don’t use but it’s so handy if you ever travel and don’t want to bring your brushes πŸ™‚

IMG_3733

Those details! Even at the end of the applicators the logo is there πŸ˜› Usually other companies have applicators that are double sided but it makes it hard to hold on to because there’s little space. These ones are one sided so you get a better grip when holding it πŸ™‚

IMG_3784

The back of the packaging always show you a little picture of the colours in the palette as well as additional info πŸ™‚ I also have to mention that the previous quads only had 1.2g of product! Which is quite light. However, with the new quads, they have 2g of product! πŸ™‚ Which is much better and standard with most brands.

IMG_3735

A close up of the eyeshadows! I love that with the previous and new quads, the eyeshadow is baked. I find that any makeup product that has been baked can last you longer than pressed versions! I guess that your brush doesn’t pick up too much product thats maybe why haha. If you look at the previous quad and compare it with the new one, even the surface looks different. The previous quads look smoother, while the new ones have a textured surface πŸ™‚

IMG_3741

It’s swatch time! πŸ˜› I just love this colour “226 Rivoli” It’s a wearable day-night palette which suits all skin tones and eye colours πŸ™‚ There is a mixture of warm and cool tones, and in all quads you will get a “highlight” and “intense” shade so you can make it smokey for a night look! Since everyone is loving the nude/brown trend lately, it’s definitely a staple you need in your kit πŸ™‚ I’m in love with the new formula because it glides so smoothly and there’s barely any fallout compared to the previous one πŸ™‚ With Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres Β palette, it is inspired by their tweed fabric, because tweed fabric has 4 or more shades in it! So all these quads contains colours that all work well together in harmony πŸ˜›

IMG_3780

Let’s move on to the blusher πŸ˜› It is housed in the same packaging as the eyeshadow quad.

IMG_3782

At the back it shows you the colour of blush along with additional info again πŸ™‚ For 4g of product, this is a standard size for blushers in other brands! The price is $71 so this will be a splurge for others!

IMG_3776

Viola! Again, it is protected with a clear plastic top adorned with the CC logo. You also get a mini brush which comes in handy when you want to touch up or bring with during your travels πŸ™‚

IMG_3762

Chanel powder blushers have a light rose scent, so if you don’t like scented products or rose scented products, you need to take that into consideration. I love it personally so I don’t have a problem πŸ™‚ It makes it enjoyable to use something that smells good and it doesn’t irritate my skin! This shade is “72 Rose Initial” which is a beautiful light, soft pink shade which warms up the skin!

IMG_3769

Close up πŸ˜› These Chanel powder blushers can be applied so lightly, for a sheer and natural look. You can build these up by adding another layer on top without looking cakey πŸ™‚

IMG_3774

The brush itself is a great size, it’s not that small! It’s made of shaven goat hair, so being animal hair, you will need to give it a good wash and condition to prolong it’s life πŸ™‚

IMG_4022

Swatch time! You can see why I love this colour, the pink is so gorgeous and it has a hidden golden shimmer which is not seen when applied to your cheeks! πŸ™‚

IMG_3699

Now it’s lipstick time! I LOVE Rouge Allure’s packaging, because you click the top and the lipstick can be taken out! How cool is that? It’s super unique compared to your regular lipstick design haha. For 3.5g, this is a standard lipstick size πŸ™‚

IMG_3701

The top is just gorgeous! All gold with an engraved CC logo. The packaging is just to die for πŸ™‚ Black and gold, you can’t go wrong with that!

IMG_3703

I have gotten the Rouge Allure range, which is a creamy lipstick that is pigmented and gives a satin finish. It costs $52 which is a standard price comparing to other designer lipsticks. I have chosen a classic colour of theirs, “99 Pirate” πŸ™‚ This colour also comes in a matching nail polish which I also grabbed hehe.

IMG_3705

I love the Chanel imprinted on the lipstick! Too perfect you don’t want to use it up till you don’t see it anymore πŸ˜› Pirate is a beautiful red with blue undertones. It’s a classic red colour that will suit any skin tone and eye colour πŸ™‚ This kind of colour can be worn during any season!

IMG_3788

Swatch time πŸ˜› You can see that it’s not too shiny or matte so it’s perfect for everyday wear, for dry lips and it’s long lasting! RedΒ pigments areΒ also strong so they usually stain your lip πŸ™‚ I definitely recommend a lip liner with this colour, their lipliner “Rouge” or “Rouge Profond” will go nicely with this colour.

IMG_3707

Last but not least, their Le Vernis polish! For $39, you get 13ml of product which is standard sizing but definitely a splurge for a nail polish haha. But the packaging is just perfect! I got the matching “08 Pirate” colour to match the lipstick πŸ™‚ It is the same red with blue undertones.

IMG_3709

At the back of the nail polish you will see info about the product. And the glass bottle is so sturdy! I dropped mine once and it didn’t break (thank god) however, the cap is plastic so if you drop it facing down, it will definitely crack! :O

IMG_3710

When you take the cap off, you can actually use it as a podium to rest your finger on while you paint it. How cool is that? πŸ™‚ When you are ready to use it, just take the cap off and unwind the brush head like any other nail polish packaging. I find that Chanel polishes have a super shiny finish, but I always use a top coat anyway to prolong it’s wear! πŸ™‚ If you work at a place where you are constantly fidgeting with your hands, you can easily chip your polish. They do last long regardless! Perhaps almost a week? It really just depends what kind of work you do!

IMG_3793

Swatch time πŸ™‚ On the left, that is one coat, on the right shows you how it looks with 2 coats! I always apply 2 coats because I like even nail polish colour πŸ™‚ Certain Chanel polishes you can get away with 1 coat. This is a creme polish so there is not hidden shimmer or metallic tones, which makes it a classic and easy way to wear colour πŸ™‚

IMG_3797

You can see how glossy the finish is! πŸ˜› I love that Chanel polishes apply evenly and they dry pretty quickly, especially if you use their Extreme Shine top coat!

IMG_3759

That’s allΒ for my haul πŸ™‚ I have my eyes on some other products I want to get but that will be on a separate post in the future hehe. Hope this inspires you to go to a Chanel beauty store and play around!
